[ Escha comes and sits beside Tonbo at the bonfire. She's mostly avoiding people - mostly keeping distance. But even though they're not that close, their relationship has been a lot of shoulder-pats and arm-touches, and so it makes it feel more natural to sit by his side. ]

For one, I'm glad we did not have a repeat of your trial. [ that's a tired quirk of a smile at the idea, even if it had been truly traumatic at the time. ] I only wish we had more time to reveal the truth of the matter than what we've been given this time around.

[ hhhhhh You know what? Most of their relationship is offering each other hugs, so Escha just. Finds Tonbokiri and walks directly into his chest to bury her face there.

[ you know that's fair and valid. tonbo gives good hugs and escha seems to always be in need. so despite the low key anxiety, guilt and self loathing he's emanating, tonbo wraps his arms around her holding her close.

Mm, exactly. Nothing has particularly gone as we've predicted and each turn brings new surprises we didn't anticipate.
