What effect do lotuses in your world have? They don't have any particularly interesting properties on their own in mine - that I know of, anyway.

Mm, you can! The root and the seeds. The root has a soft texture with a nice, crisp finish! The flavor is really mild, so it goes well in all kinds of dishes. The seeds are creamy and sweet once you get them out of the pods - very good snacks! We used to steal the ones from our neighbor's lake all the time when I was a kid, hah.
