He'll return to the mess hall shortly, two steaming cups in hand. He'll politely offer her hers, setting it easily within her arms reach with a formal little bow before circling to sit opposite her with his own portion.]
[He'll think that over, silently glancing down at the table before shaking his head.]
I'm sorry, but I really can't. As far as I knew, he and Majima were on reasonable terms, and he didn't really talk about any of the people he'd come to know since the bus trip.
He tended to give people more chances than they deserved, though. Even if he was on bad terms with someone, it didn't mean he would ignore them. Even a stranger could have easily taken advantage of his good nature long enough to do something, if they worded things right.
[ She looks like there's more she wants to ask, but... Just shakes her head. ]
That's okay. It's not like these things are ever obvious. When we're all pushed to the edge like this, there's no assuming who it could have been without...
W1 - Friday
Did you... Want to talk about anything?
[ No reason to point out that he's in a bad mood. Even if four people were okay, this is still dead day. Even one dead person is sad. ]
for the sake of not running literally everything together i'll put this after she talks to asch
He'll spot Escha out of the corner of his eye and give a stiff shrug.]
You mean about what we found? We could. I don't think there's much we can do with the information until tomorrow.
nods
That too. I agree that we don't have enough information to determine much yet, but if you wanted to talk about that, we could.
But that's not really what I meant.
no subject
No?
Okay, well... what did you mean, then? Did something happen?
[Like... outside the obvious?]
no subject
Just... You're upset. And - anyone would be upset, since someone just died. The whole situation is as miserable as ever.
But Asch mentioned that you knew him, so... I don't know. I just wondered if you wanted to talk about it.
no subject
His expression doesn't budge, outside a softening of his eyes. She'd talked to Asch already, huh?
...]
Yeah. I knew him.
He's one of the three of us that came over from the temple. Smart kid. Soft-spoken. Nice. A little too trusting for his own good.
[A beat, in which the kettle starts to whistle. Guy drifts, shaking his head slowly as he rubs one palm against his face.]
This isn't really the place for conversation, you know...?
...Go find a seat out in the mess hall, alright? Let me grab another cup and I'll meet you out there.
no subject
Mm... Okay.
[ Escha does as she's told, leaving Guy behind and wandering over to the mess hall to wait patiently. ]

Did you get to speak with him at all?
no subject
Only a little bit. When we first arrived... He did seem sweet.
no subject
...He was only seventeen. Had a girl he really liked. Had a home he wanted to go back to, and a lot he was fighting for, but...
[His grip tightens on his cup, jaw setting.]
Guess he wasn't lucky enough to get through this on top of everything else.
no subject
Did you get along with him? When you were in your game together.
Were you friends?
no subject
A careful smile.]
Yeah, for the most part. Things got a little tense a couple times, but...
We wanted to keep each other safe here. As much as we could, anyway.
I considered him a friend.
no subject
Then - can you think of anyone that might have done this? I know it's early to be trying to make any theories, but...
no subject

Well, without tomorrow.
